Senior Outreach

Outreach | Improving the Quality of Life in Our Community

As an integral part of our mission, the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra provides innovative education and outreach programs that touch the lives of many in our community. The RSO also partners with local business and other non-profits to help fulfill that mission.

Senior Outreach puts music out in the community where people live and gather, in senior centers and health facilities, public libraries and arts and cultural venues. Our musicians engage, inspire, and bring joy to those who participate with interactive and unique performances. Exposure to live music can improve health, happiness, and a sense of well-being among seniors in our community.

Danbury Library “Melodies for Memory”

In partnership with the Danbury Library, the RSO presents “Melodies for Memory” – a special monthly music program designed specifically to engage and uplift seniors and individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline. Experience the power of music to awaken memories and bring joy in a welcoming and supportive environment. Seniors, caregivers and family members are welcome. Connect with others, learn about the benefits of music therapy, and enjoy a performance by musicians with senior performance and memory care experience.

Programs take place on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:30 AM in the Farioly Program Room at the Danbury Library (170 Main Street, Danbury).
